I was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Poetry has always appealed to me as a form of expression and feelings, and I was possibly about ten years old when I wrote my first poem called Spunky the cat, The poem in this anthology ‘Ronald Rat’ was about a rat that plagued my wife and I in our life in Luton, in the United Kingdom where we emigrated in May 2000 for more than a year. He made holes all over our rented house and in the end after endless efforts we managed to ‘get’ him. I felt rather sad after this as I don’t like killing animals (But he was so destructive) so I decided to ‘immortalize him’ through poetry in honour of the anxiety he gave both us and the owners of the house. I have written many poems in my lifetime as I feel that poetry is to be shared for like music it is an international language of expression through which one can convey their innermost feelings and transcribe them into prose to the delight of those who can respond to its enchantment.
