The reader is able to cognize the images you have so well depicted. I love how the snow is “descending on the vehicles from sharp angles,” and “taking over the countryside and the houses.” The whiteout renders objects indistinguishable with its blanket of snow - very skillfully composed, Charles. I truly appreciate this emotive, thank you. Good day.

METAMORPHOSIS -- by Member: Franklyn Orode, Nigeria -- added: 2/17/2020 11:24:23 PM

An indulgent, amplification of descriptive metaphor and simile! There is an emphatic expression of consuming love between two, juxtaposed with some confusion regarding the motivators behind the ‘metamorphic’ behaviour. Exemplary work – thank you, Franklyn! Good day.

Ads, Ads, are everywhere ( My dream for tomorrow ) -- by Member: Westly Shaw, USA -- added: 2/16/2020 1:58:02 AM

Denis Barter said:

Ah Ha Westly! So you too have been duped by the Ads that promise the earth and give you naught but dross - at a price! Ads, in my opinion, are the curse of the day! They infiltrate everything. TV., Radio, Billboards, windows, on and on and on! What most people do not realise that Ads add - in many instances - to more than half the cost of what they advertise to sell! Promises, promises, promises! Nothing but empty clap trap that many spend their money on! To achieve ...what? I have friends who have cupboards full of such garbage! Empty promises. When I need something - no matter what it might be - I generally ask around from friends as to their choosing? Most will tell you they were suckered into buying some product or another, that stood head and shoulders above all competition, only to find the label was worth more than the product! Of course one has to know what is available, but the spiel and hype that goes along with some it? Nothing but empty rhetoric from an overpaid, over active imagination, from an advertiser! One from whom I steer clear ! Naught but empty hype! I had a close cousin who worked for an international advertising agency, at such a job, and I know full well, how hard and deceptive the advertising world goes about their quest to sucker the unsuspecting customer! The latest ploy - here in Canada - is to get phone calls - yesterday, believe it or not, we received one from Switzerland - from a salesperson, touting "Skin Cream" that will make you look years younger and more attractive! After listening to her spiel, she was asked if she knew where we were and our age? No idea she said! When told we were thousands of miles west in Canada, she flipped! Her computer had phoned us - randomly - and when we answered her call - not knowing from where or from whom? she started talking immediately! It was then I interrupted her and was informed that at our age - both my dear wife and I - needed no cream to make us look younger and more attractive - not a hope! ! Maybe a little energy salve - if possible? - would be far better for us, than a cream trying to make us appear younger than we are! Age can be and is for us, somewhat tricky at times, but it is also a blessing in some ways, and we have no intention of trying to attract others, or make ourselves appear something we're not! I see no honesty in most advertising, and put my Mute Button - TV - to much use these days. VN is getting into the act and I honestly think, it is some of the reason why, many Members are absent these days! Hard hitting but truthful Westly. Good for you! Fondest regards, Denis.

Yet another way of looking at the monthly Challenge Westly. An Angel in my Pocket? Well maybe, but truthfully mine spends much time at my side! No one else can see her, but she's always there, guiding, advising and bringing me comfort when life gets tough. Not too sure who She might be? but do know I'm never in doubt as to what she does for me! More of a combination made up of folks I knew well and loved, at various times in my life. Many now gone, were folks I knew and remember with fondness! Some I met occasionally , which today are wrapped in memories mists, that occasionally part, that I might ask for advice, or discuss my intended action. An Angel that is, very precious to me - in my eyes - being one of wisdom! I always feel mi Angel is my Special Guardian, who bears a strong likeness to my Mother, who always was, and is ever at my shoulder, directing me along the 'right' path to walk! We still commune together when I seek solitude. My Dear Wife, knows her too and we share our secrets in a way that onlookers will never know. Fondest regards and thanks for your thoughts Westly. You are a great example of what VN was all about. Maybe some other Members will get the message your postings, give as an example. Denis.

Come Fly A Kite with me! ( A perfect Dream of Tomorrow ) -- by Member: Westly Shaw, USA -- added: 2/16/2020 2:30:51 AM

Denis Barter said:

Ah Yes, Westly. I too remember and enjoyed days when I flew my kite or at times my home made, balsa wood glider plane. Chased after it for miles - or so it seemed some days when the wind was capricious and unpredictable! Sometimes I'd see it had crashed into a tree or the ground as the fickle breeze cut short my fun! Perfect days ideal for such fun, were often few and far between, but when my friend I were home from school and winds were perfect, we\d spend hours on the chalk downs catching the draughts of air that would take a kite way up high! Seldom see children with kites these days. They seem to spend more time than is good for them, on their computers or mobiles. It's later they'll realise they missed out on a lot of cheap and innocent fun.. Never to be forgotten! M My Dre4am of Tomorrow? To see children return to enjoying the simple pleasures of life and one another's company. Have a great day and here's hoping you can fly your kite with your doggie companion, joining ion, later. Denis.

A walk in the park ( Yours, mine, ours ! A dream for Tomorrow!) -- by Member: Westly Shaw, USA -- added: 2/16/2020 3:14:21 AM

Denis Barter said:

Hi Westly, There\s nothing like a down to earth, enjoyable walk in the park, with a valued friend. A canine companion that keeps you on your toes but one that despite any 'down to earth' requirements, is a time to enjoy each others company and to see what there is to see and enjoy. I no longer have a doggie friend. Several reasons - eyesight mainly, and winter hazards - many and varied this winter - preclude my having one today, but memories from my earlier days, flood in when I take a 'lonely' stroll outside. No Park close by but plenty of unspoilt countryside that's full of native residents such as rabbits, , birds and? Most anything you could wish for! Enjoy your walk about with your dog whilst you're able! I truly envy you. Fondest Denis.
