I loved the way you portraited the time of your childhood and shared a snippet of your life when the tv was black and white. And certainly with what we see now we really can't predict what the next century will have in store.

This poem to me was uplifting not sad, why? Because you still here and writing a poem that we all feel if honest at one time or another. We may think God has left us. but just because we cannot see Him or think He is not there, does not mean He is not. Put your hand on your heart, as long as it beats He is there. When its stop, you are there with Him. This poem makes me see were never alone , as there someone who feel just as we do at one time or another. Enjoyed!

Betty, this is your best poem yet, as I can picture this as I read. It reminds me of something you once told me.'" No matter your age, time, the season ,you have not seen it all, as change is in the air." However, As I read this I thought change is not always for the best! Your childhood sounded so free, unlike mine where my Mother never took her eyes off me or my friends, because of the unknown evil.

Dear Denis, you have certainly lived much more of the past century than me, although not too much! I agree that the twentieth century was one for the books, but now I wonder what the twenty-first will bring, if the first few decades are any indication. You have summed up our past so well and certainly reminded us of so many both good and bad memories. In these troubled times we need to recollect the simpler and sweeter days to offset the harsh realities, or just stop watching the nightly news. Lol! Hope you and Pauline are well and in good health, dearest friend. *****, Betty

Very engrossing Rhymer. In India, we have a lot of help a available- people to do odd chores. Not so expensive. That’s a big help when one isn’t well or getting old. But I can understand what you mean. Though I keep saying you can put us - a relatively younger lot to shame. Very well written! Fondest to you both. Take care x

A very powerful poem, Rhymer. Times have indeed changed. So unfortunate. Technology has truly changed the way we live. Man has always been capable of a lot of violence and evil - the century has seen it all. And yes, the way we live, our relationships, interactions are very different from what it was even a few decades back, So well written as always. Gripping poetry, fondest to you both x
