Two Poems from our Angel Poetry Collection

MY ANGEL

Author: Sara Potentier

Poem:
MY ANGEL

The world can crash before our eye
in an instant without us even being able to know.
To know why our world was suddenly
taken out of the summer sun and hurled into the winter’s snow.

Until the next second when magic takes over
and all of a sudden there’s a light.
A light that shines bright at the end of the tunnel
The angel that makes your day bright.

The one and only that can change
that frowning face that looks so heartbreaking
Back into the smiling face that
lightens up every time she starts thinking.

Thinking and wishing she could just
reach out and hold him so near
as near to her as he is in her heart
so she can bring joy to her dear

At night she prays to herself
that this one will last forever
even though in her heart she knows
forever is never actually forever.

This time she hopes it will be different
that maybe even if not forever
That this feeling will last till the end of time
and she will get her happily ever after.

AN ANGEL'S TOUCH

Author: Siobhan Whelan

Poem: AN ANGEL'S TOUCH

A melody I heard today
I never heard before
So sweet, pure, not of this earth
It knocked on my soul's door
Awakened by this glorious tune
A song that I must learn
Mesmorized by airs of purest grace
I look, I listen, turn.
For now my eyes are open wide
She offers me her hand
"Come stand with me right by my side
and you will understand".
I reach towards this hushing tune
my hand she takes, so calm.
My feet no longer touch the ground
I'm no longer a mortal man.
I wipe the teardrops from my eyes
and say my last farewells
For this tune I must go now to learn
aboze the azure skies.
