The fire, shining bright,
Cuts through the dark black night.
The light glowing.
The light growing.
My eyes burning.
My stomach churning.
The smoke eating the stars.
I can smell the char.
The great great heat
Overpowers me.
I struggle to stay alive.
I try to keep my life.
I turn to shun the hungry light
And start to run with all my might.
I strain to see with what little sight I have left.
Tree after tree
Passes me.
Each one doomed to burn.
"I am doomed too" I yell.
"I am destined to die in this hell."
So I turn around
And fall to the ground.
I look up through my tears
And find that my fear
Is gone. No fire. No smoke.
No need to choke.
No ashes.. No singed trees.
No burned leaves.
The sky is light blue,
I'm so stunned I can't move.
I even feel a light chill.
Wind from the Valley of the North Hills.
Birds on the branches sing carelessly.
"Oh my god," I whisper to myself.
In the distance I see a hazy white mist.
It must be a guardian angel looking after me.
"Thank you" I say
"For coming down for me.
You saved my life"
I can finally breath.
