Two Poems from our Angel Poetry Collection

AN ANGEL ON EARTH

Author: Cornelius Kariuki

Poem:
AN ANGEL ON EARTH

In a world paraded by people so full of themselves,
You’ve left me yearning for something I can’t provide,
With my ego crushed, setting my selfish spirits free,
I can’t help but marvel at your enchanting grace.

A verbatim so choked up with no cruel intentions,
And smiles that always put a blush on the sun’s face,
I’ve become elated by who and what you represent,
For you prove to live a life so far up above mine.

Questions and puzzles cloud up my infant mind,
Sending it into an escapade of new opportunities,
For there’s so much to learn from your winning ways,
That by just being around you, my heart beats a song.

I wish I could envision the world through your eyes,
And see myself through a heart free of judgment,
Whether or not I’ll see myself in a different light,
I’ll always be grateful for a moment in the eyes…..

Precious Angels

Author: Deanna Dilley

Poem: Precious Angels

Bright yellow sunbeams bounce off the precious angels face.
The little one smiled graciously as her Cocker Spaniel licked her ice cream covered hand.
The young new father held his baby girl tight in his arms.
She smiled and cooed as her father showed her toddlers at play.
The angel's eyes wandered as she looked after the baby boy that sat beside her, asleep in his mother's arms.
He doesn't see his sister's face.
She looks at him, not realizing he is her brother.
The tiny girl begins to cry for a bottle, awaking her twin.
The tiny boy opened his eyes wearily and rubbed his ears.
He turned his tiny head towards her.
The young boy opened his mouth
as if to say, "Why did you wake me, Sis?"
Instead he softly cooed in her direction.
