Two Poems from our Animals Poetry Collection

Lenny the Lizard

Author: Michael Shugart

Poem:
Lenny the Lizard

  Lenny the Lizard
Was eating a gizzard
While talking to Fancy the Fly.

When both became quiet,
He remembered his diet,
With one bite he pondered and sighed...

"I'm a lizard," said he,
"Don't look down on me
And act like you're so disgusted!

But if you are a fly,
You better fly high,
For at mealtime I can't be trusted!"

DINOSAURS

Author: Jay Harmon

Poem: DINOSAURS

Dinosaurs are my life.
I need one for a wife.

I'm amazed at their ower and might.
But, I wouldn't want to meet one at night.

I draw them here, there and everywhere.
It makes my mother pull out her hair.

I've read all the dinosaur books.
I've been everwhere and took a look.

I've surfed the internet sites.
And printed them with all their might.

I wish I was a dinosaur.
Especially the spinosaur.

I'd like to go back to the dino age.
But, Oh! How my mother would rage.

I'll settle for all the stories.
And in secret just dream of all the glories.

Inspired by my son Jay.
