BUTTONS

Author: Melinda Salisbury

Poem:
BUTTONS

He greeted you by running around,
your feet and barking.

He loved to be scratched behind the ears,
and have his tummy rubbed.

He liked to bark at the guys,
and cuddle up with the girls.

He'd follow you around,
especially if he wanted a treat.

He played peek-a-boo whenever i wore a skirt,
and it always made me smile.

Soft and fluffy after his bath,
and prickly after a hair cut.

You couldn't help but love him,
he was so cute and innocent.

Now that he is gone,
we will sorely miss him,

But never will we forget him.
