Two Poems from our Animals Poetry Collection

THE BLACK PANTHER

Author: Ashley Leuci

Poem:
THE BLACK PANTHER

  Yellow eyes
Cutting through the night
Piercing me
With their sharp stare
They glow with anger
And I know just what they mean
The creature’s large
And black as night
Yet beautiful all the same
As it walks into the moonlight
His fur gleams like shining silk
He walks past me
Without a second glance
And I can’t believe
That I have just seen
The majestic Black Panther

TIGER

Author: Angela Prezioso

Poem: TIGER

Orange and black and yellow
Eyes glowing
Piercing the darkness of
The jungle.

Twigs snap, rustling of
Leaves--silent
And stealthily crouching near
The ground.
