CAN'T TELL YOU I LOVE YOU

Author: Alison Bryett

Poem:
CAN'T TELL YOU I LOVE YOU

Sweet one how she loved you so
It’s something that you will never know
You’ll never hear your mother’s voice
Or know how difficult it was to make the choice

For you may not have been able to take a breath
‘Cause it may have been a double death
You see your mother is unwell
The odds are bad the doctors did tell

It was a risk she could not take
For nights her saddened heart lay awake
it’s modern medicines that keep her alive
Which meant that you might not have survived

If your mother has one message for you
It would be that her love will always be true
It is on this March day that you did die
Your mother’s heart did break and cry

THE THRENODY OF THE HANGMAN

Author: Bolaji Ramos

Poem: THE THRENODY OF THE HANGMAN

I will not be in the arms of the Morpheus
For always I see things bloody serious
In dreams, faces full of horror
But my red pitiless eyes bring terror
When comes the time i put to death
Many man's hearts not any dearth
Now i cannot be in the arms of the Morpheus
For often i see faces so serious
In dreams, so horror to sight
Seeing men of overmuch might
Pulling restlessly to fight
...when will i learn to leap high
...when will i learn to say bye
To these deadly faces in the sky
