Two Poems from our Babies, Baby Showers Poetry Collection

JADE

Author: Daniel Stein

Poem:
JADE

  I'm loving you
Ironically despite your absence
Infallibly to the end of days

You are the most eminent fantasy
The essence of my paternal desire
The enlivening embrace of my soul
That reignites every zestful moment
And every wondrous forgotten era

I'm caressing you
Tenderly every night as I dream
Everlastingly holding you close

You are my weeping's wherefore
Yet those latent mitigative tears
Were never grief-stricken at all
But veritable drops of ecstasy
So affecting in their nature

I'm expecting you
For the wind whispers your name
Fervently over and over again

You are the incandescent beauty
The occult sequence of my being
That fills my heart with rapture
And imbues my mind with reliance
Even though we have never met

I'm writing you
Amazingly prior to your birth
Your initiatory breath of life

You are my sole hope incarnate
The jewel of my very subsistence
The unadulterated incentive vigor
Which douses every scalding day
And every somber starless night

UNBORN LIFE

Author: Mary Fredenburg

Poem: UNBORN LIFE

My life is in your hands,
Please do all that you can.
To stop doing these bad things you do,
And to let me out of you.

I don't want to be messed up when I come into this world of yours,
I want to be healthy, and free of life's sores.
I don't want to have problems all my life,
So please spare this unborn life.

I love you mommy, I really do,
But doing these things, you don't know what you put me through.
I'm hurting inside even before I'm born,
Stop before the rest of me gets torn.

Please mommy I want to live,
Stop doing these drugs and give.
Give me a chance to live my life,
Before I grow up and take it with a knife.

Doing these things you're killing me,
Let me be part of this world you call free.
I want to live mommy, I really do,
So please let this unborn life become a part of you.
