Two Poems from our Babies, Baby Showers Poetry Collection

KIDS

Author: Arif Mohammad

Poem:
KIDS

  My baby brother
Had two teeth in his mouth
Two little teeth
One north, one south

You are still growing inside me
Warm and funny inside
I cannot see your little face
But I am waiting patiently outside

So come on little birdies
You won't get any bread
Until you've splashed me
Right here on my head

I am cheater
We are partners in crime
He confuses the humans
Works every time

Oh yes it was
It worked all right
As the clock struck twelve
On midsummer night

BABY GIRL

Author: Allie Melton

Poem: BABY GIRL

The little one that I brought into this world,
the love of my life,
my little baby girl.

Her daddy left as soon as she was born,
a mother of 16,
with a life and a loss to mourn.

As I hold her tight,
in my arms full of love,
I promise to protect her,
and ask for guidance from above.

No matter the reason, she was put in this place,
the little baby girl,
the one with my face.
