Two Poems from our Babies, Baby Showers Poetry Collection

A BABY HAVING A BABY

Author: Cindy Huff

Poem:
A BABY HAVING A BABY

She is a baby having a baby, she does not understand what she has done.

She has no idea about motherhood, but she thinks
it might be fun.

Like a doll that she can play with, she can put the baby away when she is through.

She is a baby having a baby, and does not know the first thing to do.

The baby is growing inside her, and she is feeling queasy and ill.

She wants to got to the doctor, so he can give her a pill.

A pill to change the way she feels, because she does not know.

She is a baby having a baby, watching her stomach grow.

She does not have any shame, she is too young to realize.

Of course the father has left her, which comes as
no surprise.

She is a baby having a baby, a baby who does not stand a chance.

As she eats hot fudge sundaes, reading true romance.

THE FIRST TIME

Author: Brandy Williams

Poem: THE FIRST TIME

I look into her eyes,
To see things I never knew.
My beautiful angel,
To her everything's so new.

The first time I held her,
I began to feel whole.
This moment was so magical,
It reached deep into my soul.

The first time she smiled,
This little girl is so amazing.
I couldn't take my eye's off her,
Everything is changing.

The first time she laughed,
I knew I was doing my job.
She seems so happy,
Except when she screams and sobs.

The first time she sat up,
She's mommy's little girl.
Her hair is starting to grow,
With little ringlets of curls.

The first time she crawled,
Brought tears to my eyes.
It's so amazing like,
Her first words momma and bye-bye
