Two Poems from our Babies, Baby Showers Poetry Collection

GRANDBABIES

Author: Eleanor Pritchard

Poem:
GRANDBABIES

  The sound of laughter
The sound of pain
Can remind you of parenting
All over again
But this time the pleasure
To comfort and hold
Your grandchildren tenderly
And then you send them home
For life is too short
To let grandparenting go by
And to see the twinkle
In your grandchild's eye
So with every waking day
You always feel blessed
That your grandbabies are healthy
And you did your best
To keep them safe
And spoil them rotten
So when you cross over
You're never forgotten.

TO LOSE A SOUL

Author: Jennifer Ahmed

Poem: TO LOSE A SOUL

I thought you would understand
It hurts...
I could't handle another life
The pain...
I loved you in spite
Broken...
For months I thought
I hoped...
But he, the other, didn't need you
The tears...
I pleaded with myself
Love is...
But it was to hard
Sorry...
I leave flowers every year
The memory...
I love you baby
My soul...
