Author: Manish Dwivedi

Poem:
happy birthday smita happy birthday

  Happy birth-day smi happy birth-day
All my joy goes to u today
You know! world became a better place
When you showed your little face
And ture beauty was in dearth
Before you ran on the blue planet, named earth
In a unique mould you were moulded,
Where your true beauty manifolded.
True beauty consisted of many things,
Freedom of nature was mimicked from birdy's wings.
Defies explanation your beauty of character
Its pureness was extracted from nectar.
Ability to face problems, taken from mountains,
Sense of keep rising, a gift by fountains.
Devouring so many qualities was not in vain,
Mould created a rare combination, beauty with brain.
The day of ur uniqe creation has come again today,
Happy birth-day smi happy birth-day

Seventeen

Author: Suzanne Sather

Poem: Seventeen

I learned the truth at seventeen
It's not enough to simply dream
And spend all of your time alone
Nights spent waiting by the phone

See all the happy couples pass
Like watching through the looking glass
A dream that's simply not meant to be
Maybe for you but not for me

I learned the truth at seventeen
I wasn't meant to be a Queen
Just someone ordinary and plain
Walking slowly through the rain

I close my eyes and hear the screams
Of all my empty, worthless dreams
That never even had the chance
To hold hands or take a dance
