A poet I am not as we all know,
And yet a poem I shall write with prose and flow.
Your birthday is the reason I take pen to paper,
the special meaning it has I hope to make clearer.
30 years ago this day you were born,
a beautiful rose but beware the thorn.
A remarkable woman you would grow to be,
and how wonderful and special you are to me.
For the day we met, I am grateful forever,
for your smile, your quick wit and how you can be so clever.
You have made me such a better person by far,
you are my sun, my moon, my twinkling star.
Though this poem be corny and the rhyming bad,
you are my wife and for this I am glad.
I promise to always love you as I did at our wedding,
until we are wrinkled and old and my pants I am wetting.
May this poem in some small significant way,
convey my feelings of love to you on this special day.
A happy birthday I wish you from my heart so true,
a wonderful magical day, like every day I spend with you.
