Looking around I feel something is not right,
A bullet of thunder is shot from the sky,
Everyone races for shelter.
Screaming, crying, I feel as if I’m in the Olympics, competing for life or death.
Without warning a catastrophe has come upon us,
Grenades of glass are shot everywhere,
Bombs of debris,
The wind pierces my face like a hundred archers firing their arrows.
Drowning in a pool of my own blood,
I don’t think I can win this battle.
Death is chasing me, the distance growing closer between us,
I run faster and faster, but I believe death will be the champion of this marathon.
The innocent are dying…
Helpless, hysterical, hopeless.
I look around one last time,
From what once was a happy home, all that stands is an orphan.
From the newlywed couple down the block, all that is left is a widow.
Left on the streets are the “soldiers” and I, whom tried to defeat this conflict.
Despite all the weapons of mass destruction,
Regardless of all the tactics,
We never can, and never will be able to vanquish this fate.
Treacherous, tragic, turmoil.
Is this a war you ask?
No my friend, this is nothing but Mother Nature demonstrating her strength,
Putting us in our place,
And reminding us, when Human Vs. Mother Nature,
Nature will always conquer.
