THERE ARE ONLY QUESTIONS WHOSE ANSWERS I DESIRED!!

Author: Priya Singhal

Poem:
THERE ARE ONLY QUESTIONS WHOSE ANSWERS I DESIRED!!

She was seated by my side
with tears in her eyes
which though she tried to hide
were not far away from my sight!

She knew the reasons for my pain
ever since she had seen the blood stains
no sooner did I complain about my health
than she got me medically checked
the medicenes did releive me of the foes
but soon all the hope was lost!

When I awoke in the middle of the night
to see my bed stained with something wet and bright
I switched on the ligths and gave out shriek
in less than a minute my mamma came inside!

I was just six
thus i was completely fixed!!
she comforted me by saying,
" you are a mamma's boy be brave and sleep".

I slept on her lap
but why did not she blink
her eyelid even once??
during the whole night span!

Next day we were on a run
as we had to get many checkups done
but how soon was I tired
there were only questions whose answers
I desired!

My mamma was never still
until the reports came in
she just glanced at them
with a look that turned her pale!

I was left all alone
my mamma and the doctor in a room
when they were finally out
she was in a state of swoon!

Soon Ileft home and came to the place
with green all over
why was everyone in white??
it appeared to me as though someone had died!

When I questioned my mamma
she would say that I will be safe
then why did she cry
every time she turned to say goodbye!

Why was I poked
after a drink,though too bitter
with something sharp
that made me sub-concious
all these happenings made me feel like an alien!

Mamma's frequent visits
got me disturbed
I wondered what she spoke
to the doctor for so long!

Once I took my chance
and heard my mamma's talk
what I could only comprehend
that I was close to death
tears just gushed
how I wished they would stop
I was angered
mamma should have informed!

I prayed to god
not to take me away so soon
I would be a good boy
from then mamma's life would be full of joy!

God didnot favour
my health became worst
two years have passed
yet I am aghast
visits became more often
stories more interesting
face more dull
soon I was asleep
as I am tired
yet there are only questions whose answers I desired!!

UNSEEN DEATH

Author: Zile Batool

Poem: UNSEEN DEATH

Listen listen!
I can hear the agonizing cries;
Cracks of a deep chasm
Gloomy sky caught those gleams
Which I was waiting for
The sun is vanished somewhere
Someone insincere and insidious is hitting me
Look there he is
With such a commanding,hateful Eyes
Who stopped me from taking ;
The benignities of the sky
I don’t know what I should do?
In such a plight?
I can’t see any ray of light
Coming towards me
Darkness and cruelty of the frozen Eyes
Made me frightened of the unseen death.
