Two Poems from our Dark Poems, Depressing Poems, Death Poetry Collection

WINDOW

Author: Nicole Gard

Poem:
WINDOW

  dead eyes scan the water
stained panes
as battered as he
watching lonely drops fall
his heart as gray as the day
his mind his cage
screaming silently
he tumbles into the black abyss
he turns
pulls into his lap his only friend
he blinks as he plucks out his melody
stares as he hums his tune
squints to remember his fingerings
his music his salve
and beyond the horizon
a pure green paradise
glistening with gold
through his window to the unreachable
he stares as one dead
blinking to forget the past
staring to escape the present
squinting to avoid the future

A MASK

Author: Motaz Lambaz

Poem: A MASK

At the end of the night
I sit alone in the dark
Thinking , listening
But a solution I can not find

A person to talk to is someone I miss
A person to talk to is truly a bliss
In public I'm a stare you could see from fare
Happiness ill fake and sadness ill Take
But no one knows what happens in the dark
Loneliness in what I'm afraid of
And it could be only the start

Excuses I have made
Faults I have blamed
I shall always be a mystery that no one could solve
For the mask I've worn is what you only see

Is it the fault of me?
Is it the fault of the?
A mask I have never worn
But in a mask you were born

This is what I'm trying to say
But your mask will take it all away.
