THE EARTH HAS SURRENDERED

Author: Nalda Safford

Poem:
THE EARTH HAS SURRENDERED

there were thousad tolled to the death, after a plane hit the tower that I never met, tsunami in Indonesia it was next ,how sad,I wish to have power to help, few month later some families were crying they were waiting for their death on the roof ,I turned on the TV if their were saying
better news , there were counting the amount of death again and again, let me cry!and I ask whom has the power for shelter and protection for children have no place? some one said it looks like Hiroshima!sad comparison, katrina after math
the earth has surrendered, is wining the death Irefuse to think what is next;
I would rather be a flower and feel the warmth of the sun,I don't want to see a disaster like a plane crash,or homicide of a mother child;
I going to climb the highest mountains to be closer to my God , I shall protect violently for mercy,
for me...
for thee...

THROUGH OUR EYES

Author: Jennifer Bryson

Poem: THROUGH OUR EYES

She was taunted,
He was shunned.
They weren't good enough for us.
We were better.
We were ALWAYS better.
At least,
We thought we were.
Then they came back
With death.
Death went into us,
Consuming our bodies,
Our minds.
Our empty souls.
Our bleeding hearts.
They heard us screaming.
But they didn't care.
They had ben silently screaming their whole lives.
We couldn't hear it,
But we saw it.
The pain in their eyes,
The hurt.
We ignored it.
And now we suffer.
We feel the pain they felt.
But we'll never truly understand.
Because even as death pierced through us,
We still thought we were perfection.
Idols.
And they were the imperfection.
The failures.
But their imperfection.
Was the morbid perfection of life.
