RICH FOOL (IF YOU CAN)

Author: Emmanuel Yenwong fai

Poem:
RICH FOOL (IF YOU CAN)

  Ah! Sweet money
Nothing less than honey
Burying worries like death
Bringing joy unlike death

Who says there is life without you?
Who drinks sweet wine without you?
Who leads people without you?
Who is honoured without you?

Did you say Jesus?
Is he drinkable?
Crown of thorns, ha! King?
Disgraced on carpenters cross?

Dine, wine and merry with me
Money sings all songs
All tunes, it provides for me
Money moves all tongues
All languages, it speaks for me

Ah! Sweet money lets plan sunrise

You rich fool! Sleep firm and rise no more
Mr. Money! Wake him at sunup for more
If you can.
I, the Carpenter have spoken.

DESDAMONA'S CONFUSION

Author: Savannah Schultz

Poem: DESDAMONA'S CONFUSION

Alone and afraid in a quiet place.
She hides in the dark so no one sees her face.
She dreams of a place where equalness lies.
Somewhere where its not known to cry.
She was born this way she cannot change.
Still they say shes sick and deranged.
To love someone she didnt think was wrong.
Still people like her did not belong.
She felt so alone.
The one she wanted to hold had been forbidden.
So she stayed hidden.
Far away so she could never love another.
She would wait until legal and promised her lover.
They would be together forever.
They would leave each others side never.
