Leading A Double Life

Author: Melissa Wielinski

Poem:
Leading A Double Life

  Confused about everything,
That's the way it always is.
Smiling around everyone.
Screaming, when it's just me.

How can you feel so happy?
But at the same time so mad?
Like the Devil and the Angel,
Are sitting upon my shoulders.

One minute I am happy.
The next one I'm not.
Why am I like this?
Confused about what I'm not.

I'm shoved between two different worlds,
And they're closing in on me!
Causing me to loose my thoughts,
I'm here, struggling to breathe.

I'm hiding my world to everyone.
Making them believe that I'm all right.
But maybe that's what I want,
For no one to see my pain.

It seems as if I have two lives.
I'm happy...yet I'm not.
Not knowing what to think.
Who to believe.
And, who to trust.

My closest friends are slipping away,
I'm tumbling over loose rock.
The closer I try to get to them;
The father away they roll.

I'm realzing everything!
Is just not cut our for what you thought it to be,
I'm realizing now who I love,
And in return; who loves me.

I'm surrounded by hate;
My mom, my dad, and my "friends."
When will they stop?
Maybe they would,
If they knew they were sucking me in with them.

I'm leading a double like,
Like Jekyll and Hyde.
One part of me wants to live.
The other part...
Just wants to die.

So You're a Movie Star

Author: Linda Chew

Poem: So You're a Movie Star

So you're a movie star
with all that glitz and glamour
I'll bet with all that pressure
is what ended you up in the slammer
Entertainment engagements by the score
have you wishing sometimes
there wasn't even one more
You are supposed to always
look your very best
With all the strain and stress
it is no wonder you would get depressed
Even though I do understand
you live a much different lifestyle
it doesn't give you the right
to act disrespectful all the while
