There is something inside me
that just shouldn't be there.
Its such a twisted mystery-
adding something to something
can make it less than nothing,
but you still miss it when its not there.
In the back of my mind
I barely remember a time
when I wasn't in bed with the devil.
Happiness is a mask for naivety-
a scarred life still can be beautiful.
But can you ever really forget
something you need to un-know,
or does darkness when repressed
bite harder each time it is shown?
Can my tortured memory ever find relief
if I don't know which daggered feelings
fit back into which sheath?
Can time truly heal all wounds,
(even those unknown)
or will the shadows of my grief
always find me with the moon?
Haunted by the self-betrayal of trying to forget-
once yesterday is entered, it is useless to regret.
