Two Poems from our Dark Poems, Depressing Poems, Death Poetry Collection

Words

Author: Lindsay Jones

Poem:
Words

  If lonliness had a smile
it would live on my lips.
If pain wanted a home
It would take over my soul.

Every tear that falls from my eye
doesn't ask for pity, but for love.
The kind of love that would save me.
The kind of love that doesn't exist.

Go ahead and turn your back on me,
just like everyone always has.
Go ahead and tell me I'm not good enough
even though I didn't ask.

All your words of hate live inside my head
and they collide with the animosity I see in your eyes.
I can hear your voice when you're not around.
I can feel your glare without looking at your face.

Your expressions haunt my dreams
telling me what a bad person I am.
Showing me that I'll never make it.
Yet they whisper to try harder.
