Since my neuro surgery nine years ago, doors within my mind have been opening and more paths open to walk onto. Which path should I take? It was within the hippocampus area of my left temporal lobe where the thorn of the flesh was removed successfully and my epilepsy came to a full stop! I so clearly remember regaining conciousness whilst being wheeled out of the operating theatre with the feel of such a bandage wrapped around the brain area of my skull. Various forms of art and emotion had always been my subjects, indicating use of the right hemisphere of my brain.

We are often told in Church of how the devil will attack Gods people through jealousy and through how well things are progressing with the Lord our Saviour. Words that travel through my mind at times are;- "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Christ suffering on the cross for the sake of others, but his path to Heaven was open to become King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The word cross often comes to the front of my mind, crucifixion, from left to right, cross in attitude, angry, cross the road, cross in different directions, cross purposes, being just a few.

Romans 12v2 Do not be conformed to this world but continually be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what Gods will is - what is proper, pleasing and perfect.

Romans 8v 5 For those that live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

If we can get to the bottom of the way we think, we will have a handle of life as a whole. Psychologists tell us that our attitude determines our actions, if you have a healthy attitude you shall find that the way you act and react will be healty and balanced. If in the way we think there are things that are inbalanced or obsessions, things that we major on, then that will effect the way we act. So the way we think effects the way we act or our outlook will effect our outcome in life.

Adopt in mind the same way as Jesus Christ, a good life, a blessed life and life will go ultimately well for you. In Romans 12 Paul says, do not be conformed, do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. The word conformed there having the meaning, don't just be outwardly changed, respond to the influences of the world around you. Conform meaning to just change outwardly, don't just be changed outwardly by the time in which we live, don't be intimidated, don't be intoxicated, don't be influenced and outwardly change.

Every two years or so there is a complete change in outlook and ideas, we are so intimidated today to go with the trend, go with the age we live. There are some things that are good in this age we live and there are things which are not, don't be conformed, influenced so that you just change outwardly, play the part and be transformed, a change on the inside.

From the word transformed comes the word metamorphosis, be metomorphosised and change form, a radical change. What Paul is saying is to be radically changed inside out. The world in which we live is so image concious and looks outwardly, Paul is telling us to change in form.

A question is are you a Camellian or a Caterpiller? The Camellian a member of the lizard family and able to change its colour in reaction if disturbed, or a Caterpiller chaging but is metomorphosised, changing to a chrysalis and onto a Butterfly. This is what Paul is saying, Camillian or Caterpillar? Camellian and change with the style in which we live or Caterpillar that allows itself to be changed on the inside, the Holy Spirit and become God like. A radical change in form.

Be Caterpillar like and change through the Holy Spirit. Change in form from Glory to Glory, a cross from Caterpillar to Butterfly by the renewing of the mind the change comes, not just an outer change but an inner change too. Body, mind and Spirit deep within.

One becomes born again, born of the Spirit, the Spirit is what we need. We cannot change or metormorphosise unless it is by God. We need God, this transforming needs to be day in, day out in the mind and heart. Be changed in the renewing of your mind, your mind is so important, the attitude of the person and this is where the transformation takes place, in the head, the heart and the Spirit. What makes you, you? Romans 8 v 5 There are people that live by the flesh or by the Spirit, the Spirit of God being allowed to renew our mind and so a transformation to a more God like attitude takes place.

The Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, grace, forgiveness, generosity, faith, hope are all attributes that form the attitude and emotions coming from the Spirit of God. It takes a hugh effort to allow the Holy Spirit to work on us but hand your life over and be changed.

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, grace, forgiveness, generosity, faith and hope were certainly the words passing through my mind five days after my successful neuro surgery as the bandage wrapped around my skull was removed and the crown revealed. The final words from the Professor being;- "You are using the right side of your brain!" Put your trust in the Lord, He shall direct thy path.
