Some people are “guided” in life by having a “vocation” or calling. Often it is a family thing. Such an individual knows from an early age that he or she will become an actor or actress, engineer, footballer, business person or whatever. Actually the notion of giving “vocational guidance” to such folk is a nonsense, because they already have a chosen “path” to follow. Maybe that’s why “vocational guidance” was replaced by “careers guidance”.

Similarly some people are profoundly religious and follow a steadfast faith in some god or whatever.

However, I must confess to having no such calling or religious belief. If pushed, I will acknowledge that there must be some sort of God responsible for “All This”. Yet I still picture God as “someone” who is “faintly ruling far away” (to quote myself). Talking of me: I see myself as “The Seeker” or “Explorer”, always looking to Learn “The Truth”. I envisage myself “Seeking” for the rest of my life.

I can, though, see that the Human Race is making definite Progress in many ways. We have much to be proud of. And I have lots to offer in this development. I value the growth of intelligence, creativity and scientific advancement. My generation may eventually have to pass on the baton of progress to our children, but we seem to be going in the right direction. Young people have their “issues” of course, but I’d like to think that as a “race” we all mature into something worthwhile.

All I can do, personally, is be Progressive and try to be a good role model. Keep “Seeking”, yes, but also continue “Building” towards a better future. There is not much more I can say. Nuff Fer Now. Out.
