"SAVE ENERGY OR BUST"

PLEASE READ THIS THROUGH...Government official are trying so hard in coming up with a solution to save energy.
This poem solution is in rhyming poem but the detailed description is at the bottom...please read it and give me a comment. My poem:

"Save energy or bust"

If we as the adults, of our nation we claim to be,
to uphold the law faithfully, and make a better place for you and me.

Then it would be easy, this solution to put in place,
to know that it would solve problems, of course with Gods grace.

If School days were changed and snow days and summer vacations rearranged,
we might cut back on heat and air conditioning somewhat presently unchanged.

Change the public school's schedule from July 1 till August 31,
for kids to play a a new vacationing song called, "Save energy or bust"

It would then be from March 1 till June 31st to end.
with a Vacation to follow for the hot summer days vacation to extend.

Then to reunite with pleasure of delight,
again to return on Sept 1st utill December 23th,just before Christmas night.

To those of chilly tempurature sites
this would warm morning delights.

The change would be of daily hours, seven a.m. till three thirty.
Many on day light hours, yet still riding buses to and fro, warm or cool and strudy.

Just think of the energy that could be saved form budgets of public school on heating and cooling bills off budged school claims.
Are we in a land that denies a drastic schedule changed
Just a few things need be rearranged.

Our country's have tried endlessly to cut back, change engines of cars, develop solar energy, and numerous gadgets to save energy. Maybe then a more drastic solution could be just as simple as following new schedules, though it would make a drastic change. Follow closely to my explination. The poem might have been a bit confusiing.
I put it all in poem form but my suggestion would be that here I put it in a blog for all to see.

CHANGING SCHOOL TIME SCHEDULES AND SEASON SCHEDULES

They have found that THE burning of gasoline is poluting our nation...We in this world use thousands of gallons of oil and gasoline daily. No body can be without transportation but changing it and cutting down can help..

If schools were open from 7am to 3:30 instead of 8 till 3 it would adding 1 1/2 hours each day.
School in most states run from about Aug 17 through June 15 yearly, not counting some holidays such as fall, christmas, spring break, and snow days in some areas. This is about 10 months per year 5 days a week at 8 hours a day 40 hours a week that kids attend school, again subtracting about 1 and 1/2 month for missed time out of the semesters it would be about 8 1/2 months total now with the new change.
The new change of schedules of schools would be from (March 1 till June 31 ) then reassmemble (Sept 1 till December 23), and vacations between these dates. It would be about 6 months of school but adding 1 1/2 hours a day I figured estimate it would be our schedule now a total of about 1200 hours per school year and this is about what it is now. The change would be such a drastic savings on the government bills for public schools that it would be staggering to see just what it would be. Schools would not have to run high heat bills or air conditioning in the (extreme weather). This savings alone would be tremendous in dollar amounts. School buses would not have to warm up or cool their busses down as much. Personal Day care's would take the blunt of kids in the off seasons which government funding could could hire vacationing teachers at a private location like a day care to add a couple hours a day to keep kids brushed up on classes between sessions.
This may sound far fetched but why do we run out all the resources on heat and waste it when just a minor time change problem could be changed so much and save so much. Not to offend anyone on this it is just my suggestion

Rohit SapraSaving energy and the limited resources, is a thing which is a must. If everyone starts realizing their duty then I am sure this world would be a much nicer place to live in.India11/2/2009 8:22:21 PM
linda terrellThanks Nancy for the time you took to read this and your heartfelt comment. Yes, the hours could be rearranged in many areas. Maybe not exactly like I have suggested in every area. I am certain this is a definately a start. To me this is Like Raylene's current poem. It's Gods Creation why waste what he so gractiously given us.usa10/29/2009 4:41:06 AM
Nancy CrosslandLinda, you have made some very constructive and valid points on energy conversation. Schedules are varied across the country, as three of my grandchildren are in Arizona and are out of school in mid May and return in mid August. Shortening the days, hours etc. does have its advantages and disadvantages. It does warrant considerable review in each of the time zones. You certainly have put much thought and effort into your solutions and I admire your tenacity and determination. Hope a resolution is near!USA10/28/2009 11:25:21 PM
