To make it easier for you to find the information you’re looking for, VoicesNet has begun organizing our news blog posts into COLLECTIONS.
Searching for instructions on using specific VoicesNet site features? Look in our archive of instructions in our Site Updates and User Instructions Collection. Want to see which poems were recognized as winners in a certain month? Check out the winner archive in our Monthly Poetry Contest Winners Collection.
We’ll be adding more Collections soon to make navigating VoicesNet News even easier for our members.
And while we’re on the subject… why don’t you all follow VoicesNet’s example and start organizing your writing into Collections of your own??
Many VoicesNet members have already begun to use Collections and are seeing the benefits of this feature.
Creating Collections allows you to ORGANIZE your writing by type, subject matter, project, etc. Not only does this make it easier for you to keep track of your work but it makes it a lot easier for others to find your writing.
When you use Collections, people can navigate easily from one item in a Collection to another via ARROWS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST. VoicesNet users who are writing books in chapters will find this feature especially useful, as it will make it easy for readers to move from “Chapter 1” to “Chapter 2” and so on of their stories. These arrows will be useful to our other writers, too, as they will enable readers to browse the works of their favorite VN authors in a new, user-friendly way.
Another AWESOME aspect of the Collections feature is the DESCRIPTION box. When you create a new Collection, use the Description box to tell readers what they will find in this particular Collection. Be as descriptive (hence the name!) as possible, as the description you provide will help draw people browsing the internet to your writing! This is your chance to market yourself as a writer and gain a wider readership!
To start creating Collections today, go to your user profile and click the “NEW COLLECTION” button. You can organize all of your previous writings into new Collections. Then, manage your Collections by clicking on the “MY COLLECTIONS” button on your profile page.
To browse Collections by other VoicesNet writers, click on the “Writing Collections” link on the left-hand side of the VoicesNet homepage.
Happy writing (and Collecting!),
The VoicesNet Team
