JUDGE COMMENTS: "A wonderfully creative and very well structured poem in its originality. It has Excellent grammar, and faultless rhyme and rhythm throughout such as would do Poe credit! The poet has captured Poe’s essence with his poignant, opening words "The distant sounds of silent screams Echo through my soul" which instantly grab and hold the reader’s attention. Poe was a tortured soul in many ways and the author reflects this beautifully in his poem from this wonderful start to its dramatic finish, "Can't they see the words I bleed? I'm Edgar Allan Poe."

Congratulations to the author on this very powerful, moving poem that leaves the readers feeling they have just walked in Poe’s mind. Well done!

JUDGE COMMENTS: "A very heartfelt, poignant poem of a marriage destroyed. Well constructed, it flows smoothly from start to finish and the raw pain and emotion expressed throughout touches the reader not only in heart but in mind, also. A powerful write! The last verse says SO much, "Our family portrait has eternally changed" reveals a stark reality. And its final line "On the counter it sits, a lone band of gold" hits home. Congratulations to the poet on this very moving poem."

3. "Without Her" by Adam K. Field of the USA

JUDGE COMMENTS: "A very moving poem that is very creative in its simplicity. A few words that skilfully paint the picture of loss! It is well structured with good grammar and flows smoothly throughout to the last powerful verse...

"Cold is the roaming mind
Which in sadness wanders.
Dead is the spirit torn
So to rise no more."

Congratulations to the author of this beautiful poem.

Larry is eligible for a $25 paypal payment if a paypal email address is provided.
