Spring's rebirth typically inspires lots of poetry!
We've noticed many poems about springtime and flowers and love in the past few weeks.

Here are a few happenings coming up for our poets.
First, today is World Water Day. It was established 21 years ago by the United Nations to increase people's awareness of the importance of water in all facets of life.
Did you know that although 70% of the earth is covered by water, only 1% is drinkable? And by turning off the water while brushing your teeth, you could save up to 8 gallons of water per day?! (thanks to http://visual.ly/world-water-day-2013-facts )
Let's all give thanks for the clean water we have and strive to conserve :-)
Other Spring events that inspire verse include:
Easter, which is next Sunday, March 31st
Baseball's Opening day, also next Sunday!
April is National Poetry Month in the US and Canada! Let's show our pride by creating some verses for our world brothers!
Our 44th annual Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd! Who remembers the wide-eyed enthusiasm and sincerity of the first Earth Day so long ago? I remember a group of us walking the 5 miles to school, picking up trash along the way that day to do what we could to help the environment!
As poets, many of us don't need extra inspiration to write, but with all these events coming up, our pencils (and computers) will be hot with poetic activities!
