Roy's Challenge

a writing by William Willis

Dear writers of Voicesnet. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their heartfelt submissions over the last 2 months in what was The Roy Douglas Kneale Memorial Challenge.

On a personal note, I just want to say that I shall miss him very much. He played a huge part in inspiring me and many otherss on Voicesnet and made so many friends. These friends have come together at this sad time and delivered. Of that there is no doubt. Thanks again one and all.

In the previous 2 months many have come forward and given us their favourite Roy Kneale Poem and the standard was always going to be high. Reading this poetry again was absolutely joyous. He is a master craftsman extraordinaire. The life of Roy is now sprinkled finely on these pages of VN and no doubt others will come across it and enjoy it as we have done.

Roy loved Voicesnet and stayed here for a long time. Big shout to Jeff too, because without him we would probably never had the RDK Experience.

Great too to see Roy's son, (who he thought the world of) Ralph get in on the act too. Ralph's brilliant piece "One Time" was poignant and beautifully delivered just like his Fathers poetry.

May both Roy and JJ rest in peace and my thoughts are with both their families.

The 100 th Musketeers Challenge has now come to a close.

The next Challenge will be Challenge 101 and will begin on 7th August 2019.

Thanks again to all.
