a poem by Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Montik, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

Among the blackness of the night
A thread of love peaks through,
Its gentle kiss awakened me
And lead me straight to you.

I found you standing on your knees
And heard you whispering my name,
Your silent prayer embraced my heart
And burned within me like a flame.

I softly took your hand in mine
And watched you lift your lonely gaze,
The smile that crept onto your face
Gently touched me and set my heart ablaze.

The stars grew bright and lit the sky
As I faded into your sweet embrace,
The warmth and comfort I found there,
Told me I was safely in my place.

I glanced into your loving eyes
And silently said I love you,
Holding me tighter than before,
Quietly you said those three words too
