a poem by Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Montik, USA -
I know you saw her smile butYou just shrugged off her greetingAnd walked away before someoneElse could see that bright hello.Every time you see her thoseConfused green eyes ask you whyYou told her that you loved herWhen there always was another girl. She doesn't ask much of youOnly an answer so that her brokenHeart and shattered dreams couldBecome a part of who she used to be.No longer does she smile andHer cheerful giggle has disappearedLooks at the ground when she walksAnd only you know why she has changed. Now you stand here dressed in yourBest black suit as you listen to the preacherTell you that is was just an unfortunateCar accident but you know better. Her face holds peace once moreBut its fakeness accuses you asYour tear apologizes and with broken wordsYou say goodbye to your green-eyed girl.
