Song of the Wind

a poem by Gail P. Kay, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

The wind blows free
Along the canopy
Of the trees
And leaves
Rustle their welcome
To me.
The wind blows harder
And the song gets louder
But it cannot see
The joy it gives me
Deep in my soul.
“This is the wind”
my musings dwell
on the thought so bold,
“This is the wind,
so fresh, so free
that has always been
and always will be!”
The song of the ages
These trees near me sing
Is the song of creation
That has always been;
All that is new
Is me – and You!
