GRANNY’S ON THE NET

a poem by Gail P. Kay, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

“Granny’s on the net again! “
Oh how it made me laugh
To read that clever little rhyme
And know I too was on the path
To iniquity and slavery
Because I love to surf the net!
It ends my isolation,
Puts me in touch with a set
Of people of like mind
Who cheer and lift my day
I laugh and learn and enjoy
My computer in every way!
So you can bet your boots this granny
Is surfing far and wide
And she hasn’t even left her home
Or sailed upon the tide!

God bless you Mr Billy Gates
And Microsoft! One and all
Because this crazy granny’s happy
And not about to fall
Or trip upon the carpet
And get a broken hip
She’s too busy surfing
And she don’t take no lip
From children who say “ hey ma,
When are you going to get ?
Just wait your turn there sonny Jim!
Your granny’s on the net!
