A LITTLE OLD LADY DIED TODAY - Aunty Mabel

a poem by Gail P. Kay, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

A little old lady died today. Aunty Mabel.
The world will not mourn her passing.
Only her family and her friends will.
They will gather
To farewell her frail body
As it is laid to rest.
But they know!

Yes, we know
The world has lost
A Mighty Prayer Warrior!
One whose faith never faltered,
Never stumbled
Under the blows of life.
We know her prayers covered us
Surrounded us,
Like an impenetrable shield!
The light of faith shone from her
As a mighty beacon
From a lighthouse
And with her passing
We feel we are now frail barques
Tossed about by life’s storms
On a sea strangely dark.

WHERE HAS THE BOWLER GONE?
