Slow Me Down, Lord

a poem by Kristine J. Trudeau, USA

Slow me down, Lord
So I may see the beauty that surrounds me
Morning dew, sparkling like diamonds, sprinkled on the grass
Sun rays, pouring through storm clouds, like a highway to the heavens
A perfect spider web, in my kitchen window
The first snowfall of the winter
A child's smile as a puppy licks his face
The wrinkles surrounding my grandmother's eyes
My husband's hands as he holds mine
The kindness of a stranger
And, the acceptance of a friend
Slow me down, Lord
So, I may see the beauty of all Your creation
