TIME SONG

a poem by Gail P. Kay, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

Softly the willows weep
Softly the gum leaves fall
Gently the seasons leap
In answer to nature’s call.
Fiery sun gentles its rays
And cooler breezes whip and whirl,
Summer has run its days
And soon snow storms will swirl.
Seasons in mother nature show
That there’s a time given to man
That is only for us to know a while
And then let it go again.
A time to laugh and a time to cry
A time for every purpose under the sun.
We love to laugh but we wonder why
There’s a time for our tears to run!
