a poem by Satheesan Rangorath, India - poetry writer, author, poet

You wiped burning my flesh off
Flaming me with lips of fire
You consumed me of brutally
Breathing heavily with a hiss

I can't remember the beginning
But a tempest was brewing in you
Turning wild into a hurricane
Uprooting every poise of mine

I sigh deep into breathlessness
Succumbing to your wilderness
The flood of emotions sweep
Through every cell in my body

My carcass lies scattered all over
Exposing the bare wounds of futile vanity
My face still bears the severity
Of torture and pain of life

The angels of fire are waiting
In the wings of mystery
With tongues flung out, thirsty
Greedily wetting dry lips

I see my body decomposing
Consumed by vultures of time
Pecking my heart bit by bit
Freeing Prometheus to eternity
