SNAKES DO SHED THEIR SKIN

a poem by Satheesan Rangorath, India - poetry writer, author, poet

A long walk from home,
Making a statement of her features,
Shades and smells of life fall through,
On every cell of her body,

Wading away from wanting eyes,
She escapes to safety.
Skips in a huff from passes,
Quivering in wonder at times,

A light breeze flutters her gown,
Letting all the flowers escape,
Flowering the shrubs and plants,
Spring has arrived in splendor.

She discards her clothes now,
Letting them fly away in the wind.
Unaware of existence she fades,
Into her non existence,

World reels around her in patterns,
Getting her melted slowly.
Disappearing in a whirlwind,
Leaving no trail; except her skin.
