My Beautiful World

a poem by Thelma Elizabeth Zaracostas, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

A poem from Michelle Trinity's Blue Folder.

My Beautiful World.

I want to be outside among
the grass and trees.
I want to see the
stars winking at me.
Sometimes I think,
the stars and rocks
have their own personality.

Have you ever picked up a beautiful stone held it
in your hand.
When I do I feel a sense of peace, a closeness to the earth.

Glistering rocks shining in the golden sunshine.
Stars staring from the
black and glistering face
of the sky.

Paintings with feelings,
and moods
symbolising freedom.
Plants pushing up from
the earth to carpet
the world.
All these are
my beautiful people.
