WHO STOLE MY DREAMS?

a poem by Gail P. Kay, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

I had so many dreams
When I was young.
I wanted to learn new languages;
I wanted to travel the world,
See strange and wondrous places;
And people;
And feel and know
What they felt and knew.
I wanted to be one with them.
Be born anew!
I hoped to make a difference
In the world.
But before I had begun
My dreams were all gone.
Who stole my dreams?
Or did I just push them away
With the mundane
Of each day?
Did they wither and die
In the depths of my brain
Starved by life
in its ration of pain?
Did I just make other choices
And fail to see
That in choosing them
I lost - me?

SOMEONE IS DYING
LIFE'S JOURNEY
TRUE LOVE
