a poem by Phillip Joseph Hussey, UK

I just won't ever gamble again
Its causing me too much pain
Come the sun, come the rain
My money continues to drain
And yet I find I make no gain
Its worse when I try to refrain
Racing dogs,horses I've lain
Soon I'm left with not a grain
There's this pounding in my brain
Urging me to my habit sustain
Even when I'm on the train
My mind is on the lotto main
All attempts to stop are in vain
Tho I hold gambling in disdain
Sooner or later, it's very plain
I'm back at gambling again
