a poem by Satheesan Rangorath, India - poetry writer, author, poet

She put on a makeup,
made her hair-do,
Scented her body,
glossed her lips.

Stepped out in confidence,
her fragrance filled the air.
Tucking her red flowing gown
she smiled admiringly.

Screech of a motorbike,
entry of street urchin,
boy stared at her smiling,
while kicking a pool of dirt.

Splashing a weaning smile,
Spilling her perfume in alley,
Kicking her sandals, she left.
Across the street in a lane,
found her stoning an alley-cat.
