a poem by Pushpalata Venugopalan, India

Of shining countenances
Warm golden spell,
Cherubic innocence
Pure silver bells;

Of lotus lips lisping
A mirthful source,
Tender soft skins,
Velvet grasses' feel.

A world of content
Their imaginary shell;
A carnival constant
In life's garden dwell.
