BEAUTIFUL

a poem by Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Montik, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

A golden sunbeam softly tickling
a drop of sleepy morning dew
while a yawning daisy shakes
slumber from her delicate petals.

The tiny Monarch who lets the
wind carry her past a dandelion field
and the Blue Jay who landed on the
tip of the church’s white steeple.

A fisherman’s boat bobbing on gentle
waves as he catches tonight’s supper
while in the distance clear bells invite
big and small to an evening of prayer.

The tear that sparkles from the corner of
a small boy’s eye as he bows his head and
raises his hands as the Holy Spirit surrounds
him and covers the church with peace.

So beautiful is the linked souls of ordinary
people who are burning with desire and
shining with His light as all worldly things
slip away until only the presence of God is left.
