Slava's Secret

a poem by Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Montik, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

Your chocolate-brown eyes
stare off into a distant time.

An innocent smile creeps into
your lonely and confused heart.

Seeing her is like rewinding a
long forgotten movie of memories.

Blinking, you step away from
forgotten moments in your past.

Burrowed deep inside your heart,
three little words are hiding.

Wanting to see the bright sun,
they wait to be set free.

Watching her laugh and smile,
your adoring gaze is frozen.

You don't need to tell her
the words that are in you.

The sparkle in your hopeful eyes,
gives away your guarded secret.
