a poem by Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Montik, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

The pure smile that
shines beneath your
innocent deep eyes
beckons temptation.

The laugh which has
spilled all over your
face makes me want
to run to you.

Instead I turn away
and try to forget but
the twinkle in your
eyes draws me to you.

When you say I love you,
I want your strong arms
to hold me till my heart
slows back to normal.

For now I hide from
temptation but I will
let it find me once we
say "I do."
