Loving God

a poem by Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Montik, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

If You are a loving God,
why do I live in a world
dying of black hatred?
And if You're a caring God,
then why do so many
people suffer from pain?
If You are as powerful as
they say You are then
why don't You stop wars?
Why must children beg their
mother for food and all she has
to give them are her tears?
Because Your people have
turned away from You
and chose death instead.
But since You are a
loving, caring, and powerful
God You let them live.
Mothers watched their children
play while You watched Your
Son die on the cross for us.
