Easter poem

a poem by Thelma Elizabeth Zaracostas, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

Waited in the heat for half hour
bus was late, almost turned back
no not today the shops close tomorrow
it is Good Friday.
Easter buns must be bought and Easter
goodies for the Kiddies.

Took some time to pick out Easter eggs
not too much chocky daughter warned
makes the children act so silly
I agree but the Easter bunny called out to me
and I left the shop with a bag full of
yummy yummy chocky Easter eggs.

Missed the bus the sun was hot sat
and sulked
settled down to sit and wait suddenly
a bus pulled up, grabbed my bags from
off the seat, bag was upside down the
chocky eggs rolled around and around
patient driver waited till I picked them
up from the ground
hopped aboard, at least gave passengers
a good laugh.
Have a very Happy Easter everyone.
